On this site, you can find hundreds of informational text and fiction passages to use with your students. ReadWorks has leveled all the passages using Fountas and Pinnell at the younger grades and Lexile scores as the passages become more difficult. The site allows you to search by grade, lexile and subject to find the types of passages that would align with your curriculum.
After each passage, you will find a question set. The question sets for each passage are identical in structure (ie first question is a vocab question, second question is a sequence question, third question is an inference question etc.). There are open ended questions as well. These question sets would be perfect to use for progress monitoring students who are struggling with comprehension as you would be able to track student progress as it related to specific comprehension skills.
ReadWorks.org also provides mini-lessons at each grade level for teaching reading skills and strategies. You can search by strategy and find lessons and corresponding text to use for each lesson. It also has many strategy lessons developed for trade books that we probably have in our school libraries.
If you take a few minutes to look through this website, you will not be disappointed.
